Fortnite players are happy – no longer have to return to the lobby after every match or accidentally press the ‘report player’ button when trying to play again. After days of missing the button, you can finally press ‘Ready Up’ again immediately after a game ends.
It seems like a long time ago that the button disappeared – on November 16, the official one Fortnite Status account on Twitter announced: “Note: We have temporarily disabled Split Screen functionality and the ‘Ready Up’ and ‘Continue Playing Together’ buttons due to an issue. We are now investigating a fix for this and will release an update when these features are re-enabled.”
Although the split screen issue was resolved on Tuesday (November 21), it took until last night (November 22) for the ‘Ready Up’ and ‘Continue Playing Together’ buttons to appear finally back. No further explanation was given as to what issue prevented them from turning back on, but whatever the reason, longer Fortnite sessions should now feel much less disjointed; and you no longer have to worry about your teammates forgetting to set themselves up in the lobby for every game.
We heard you like buttons. The ‘Ready Up’ and ‘Keep playing together’ buttons are visible again! Where are we going now? pic.twitter.com/pnIq7MpZacNovember 22, 2023
In others Fortnite news, earlier this week Epic Games was officially announced The big Bang – the next live event set in the Battle Royale. While few details have been announced, it has been teased that this will happen “a new beginning for Fortnite,” and it was later confirmed that it will feature an in-game appearance from American rapper Eminem.
Up to four players can experience The Big Bang together when it starts on December 2 at 2pm ET / 11am PT / 7pm GMT / 6am AEDT. Epic has said it will be “unforgettable” and that the event will “evolve all things as you know them,” so make of that what you will.
